The alert was issued in Bridgeport on Monday, Aug. 28 for Aliyah Serrano who was reported missing by her biological father, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police.
Gilleran said it is reported that the biological father was given full custody of Aliyah Serrano in July.
According to the father, he has had no physical contact with the girl or her mother, 33-year-old Valery Colon, of New Haven, Connecticut, since Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, Gilleran said.
The maternal grandparents have not reported Aliyah or their daughter Valery missing, police say.
To fit the criteria for an Amber Alert there needs to be an imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death, Gilleran said.
Aliyah is described as being 3-foot-7, 30 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
"The Bridgeport Police Department is working with our law enforcement partners to bring this incident to a safe and speedy conclusion," Gilleran said.
